Tortilla Faces and Sunglasses - 1-31-22

What's up everyone! This was a really great week, but it was also pretty average. I guess it's good that average weeks are awesome! Anyway, the most important thing this week is that we got a new ward mission leader and he's really been working hard to make improvements and see how the ward can help us out better.

Lunt and I have had a lot of fun teaching the English 1 class for French speakers. I don't know a lick of French but everyone is still so nice and it's so fun. Maybe I'll learn French now, I don't know hehe.
It was really hard to get a hold of Cora, one of our friends this week, but we thought about it and found a new strategy that works. She's also been really busy starting school, work, and such but luckily we were able to meet with her this Saturday! We had a really good lesson/conversation with her and her husband and the questions they have about missionaries and our church.
Anyway, the spiritual thought of the week:
D&C 6:36-
Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not

What if we looked to the Lord for everything we did and everything we thought? I personally would be much braver and confident in talking to people. I wouldn't fear doing things the Lord asked of me. Well, this is something that I've been working on this week and will continue to work on. I know that letting the Lord into your life will bless you immensely not only with confidence but with happiness, I've already seen it in this past week. He will never lead you astray. Through hard times and choices, if you look unto Him, he will lead you by hand and give you the answer to your prayers. I invite y'all to make a consistent effort to look unto the Lord. After all, He is our all knowing Father, and whether we like it or not, He knows what's best. Why would we not want to get advice from someone who's all-knowing?

Plot Twist: It snowed in Texas :) 2-7-22

Soooo this week we got some snow and we had to stay in our house for 2 days. Sadly, it was not like Utah snow. It was very icy and hard to make any snowmen. BUT... we were so grateful for it anyway and it was so fun! The Grecos, the members that we live by, invited us over to go play with them in the snow. Sadly, I didn't get a picture :((( But I'll put a picture of me and Lunt in the snow down in the pics section :))

Our members were so good at taking care of us and making sure we were safe and warm, another thing to be grateful for :)) Lunt and I took this special time to study more, call people, work on our stretching, and learn how to dance.

Something kinda cool that happened this week was that we had a less active/part-member family bring us dinner. We taught the little kids a little lesson over Zoom, and then we went tracting a few days later and just happened upon their house! They invited us in and we got to teach them another lesson! We also saw them at church which is so amazing!!

Now for something spiritual.
This is one of the scriptures that I memorized in the MTC.
3 Nephi 5: 13
Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life.

What does it mean to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ? To me it means loving first and loving people so much that any fear of sharing the gospel disappears. It means continually working on improving and becoming more like Christ. I would love if you, the person whose reading this, would take the time to ponder and research what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ to you, and let me know what you find out!
