It finally happened

 It finally happened 🐐🪱

Well guys, I feel accomplished. I finally dewormed some goats. I wish we had better pictures of us and a video of us tackling goats to the ground, but we haven't gotten them yet. So, a bad picture will have to suffice.

CANTALOUPE- This sweet lady at one of our services gave us a cantaloupe/honey dew mixed fruit thingy and it was so yummy. Reminds me a a joke Sister Liechty always says.

Two melons were in love, and one said to the other "hey, I love you so much, let's just run away together right now and get married." But the other one said "I'm sorry...I Cantaloupe." 😂 Badum pushh. I hope you liked that one

JUDY- We asked our friend Judy about baptism and she would love to be baptized! She has a long road ahead of her but we're grateful we have a goal to help lead us ahead for her. Satan's been making it hard on her, but she's continuing to keep her commitments. Woohoo!

110°- Yes, it reached up to 110 degrees out here, but it felt like 200 👍 most everyday has been in the 100s this week which was a real trial. There were a couple of days where we were encouraged to only be outside for a few minutes at a time. This makes missionary work hard. Our friend Judy was really concerned for us. She had heard people passing out when they got in their cars because it was so hot. Our Mission grandma, Grandma Grace, even bought us waterbottles to help us stay hydrated. What a sweet little thing that was. I'd been wanting a new waterbottle for a while and here it was. Thought the heat I've felt the love of a lot of people and that makes me so happy.

BREAKFAST WAFFLES- couple days ago We hade breakfast with this one fam in our ward. She made us waffles!! But you don't understand, she's a baker, so these waffles were insanely delicious. Homemade whipped cream and everything. After dinner, the whole family put on a little show of their favorite things which was so cute. We got to see a collection of Rubiks cubes, both of their game closets, a lightsaber, and many crocheted toys and blankets their mom had made. It was awesome.

WE LIFT HEAVY THINGS- we helped a lady move things from her pod into her garage which seems like lightwork except it was so hot. I went through four waterbottles, which is really unlike me. (Even though I know I should hydrate more) Anyway, that was something I hadn't done for a while, it was refreshing to do that type of service again.

(no picture captions were sent with the email, so just enjoy looking at the pics)

Am I an egg, cuz I've been spoiled this week

Am I an egg, cuz I've been spoiled this week

This week was awesome 🤘🤙I was a little spoiled haha 🕍⚽️🐶🐈‍⬛

INTERVIEWS- We had our first interviews with President John. He's awesome. He's been working really hard and I can feel the love that he has for his calling and for all of us. He gave everyone a blessing which was so precious. One theme that he has is loving people "one by one." He's been informed about the number of missionaries that fall away after the mission, his goal is to have no empty seats at his family dinner table in heaven. All of his missionaries are included. The way he ministers shows how much he care for all of us.

TRAINING AND MINI-EXCHANGES- After our district council this week we had a little training by our sister training leaders and the mission soster training leaders about member work and Facebook work. It was really helpful and super fun to be with all the Sisters. After, I went with Sister Brophy to her Spanish area. To say the least, I could only hear a few words people would say so I just nodded and smiled a lot. I'm I'm thankful for the Sister Training Leaders. They purposely did exchanges on Thursday because thats when they play SOCCER ⚽️🥳!! So I got to play, that was so kind of them. Boy, did it take me back. Sadly didn't get pictures :((((

TEMPLE TRIP WITH THE SISTAS🥳- The day after exchanges we were able to go to the temple!!! I just love the temple so much and I'm so thankful for members that take us every so often. Because we got there pretty early, we were able to do initiatorys and an endowment. After, the member that took us also took us to lunch at this fancy restaurant called Lazy Dog. I got a PB and J burger. Before you say anything, yes, it was actually pretty good. I would buy it again in a smaller portion.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT KINDA- I've been thinking about the beginning of my mission a lot. It's easy for me to be mad at myself for making mistakes and for not knowing the things I do now. Sometimes we're so hard on ourselves and we need to give ourselves some grace. I'm grateful that I've grown and that I didn't stay in that place. Truly, this is a gospel of learning, growing, and changing. So heres a reminder to be good to yourself. Pat yourself on the back for how far you've come, then make a goal to be a little better. "Be ye therefore perfect eventually"

Stay tuned for next week. I might have pics of deworming goats 🐐 🥳

Fire lessons, fireworks, and FIRE.

 Fire lessons, fireworks, and FIRE.🔥

Holy moly yall! Last week was the first week I missed doing an email for yall..I think? The 4th of July was just too busy to even get in writing time. I really mean it, I'm not just pulling your leg.

4TH OF JULY RECAP: Woke up, did yoga, went to a ward pancake breakfast party, went to the grocery store, drove to Bridgeport for yard games and pork steak with the Lambs. Drove to Denton for gatorball and hamburgers (which I didn't eat because I was stuffed already)  talked to the fam, the we drove all the way to sunset for dinner with the Smiths. The most yummy hamburgers ever.
(🔥fire warning🧯) We even got permission to stay and watch a few fireworks, but what happened was the first firework that went of fell over and started a fire on the ground. That was all fine and dandy because the Smiths were ready for that with a hose. BUT, what they weren't ready for was a flame hopping the fence and starting a fire in the field. They had to take their little four wheeler thing with a water jug on back all the way around their property and through the fence, all the way back to where the fire was. When Brother Smith got there all we see is him looking around very confused. Out of nowhere Sister Smith, who is not a young lady, comes running and hollering through the field with the hose. Oh boy was that a scene. But no worries! The fire was put out haha

LAST WEEK IN A NUTSHELL: The bird eggs right outside of our front door finally hatched. Now we have cute/ugly baby birds!! They almost make up for all the bird poop they drop. Sister Liechty reached her mission 1 year mark 🥳 lots of lessons last week, and we got to meet our needs mission President, President John! He's awesome, more on him below. ⬇️

TALKED IN CHURCH AGAIN👍: I was asked to speak in church again. I talked about Quentin L. Cook talk called Conversion to the Will of God. I think it was decent? Didn't have much to prepare for it sense I have missionary duties that take priority kinda.

FOODBANKS: We did service at two foodbanks this week. One in Boyd and one I Decatur. I love doing service. It's kind of like exercise but with more pros. We just carried a lot of cans to different places.

LOTS OF LESSONS: The work seems to be picking up here! Which makes me so happy because the more lessons we have the less we have to be out in the heat!! Speaking if, it's way to hot here. It's been over 100 almost in not every day.

ZONE CONFERENCE SPIRITUAL THOUGHT: We had our first zone conference with President John...and it was soo good! He's planning on make so great changes for our mission. It's definitely going to be different, but I think he's bringing a desire and motivation that our mission needed. This conference we focused on faith and becoming a Master Seeker. Do you love to learn about the gospel? What I took away from zone conference even though it wasn't said was that true seeking is constant. As missionaries we have an hour to study for ourselves, but that is not where the learning or studying stops. Here's a favorite scripture of mine:

1 Nephi 11:1 - For it came to pass after I had desired to know the things that my father had seen, and believing that the Lord was able to make them known unto me, as I sat pondering in mine heart I was caught away in the Spirit of the Lord, yea, into an exceedingly high mountain, which I never had before seen, and upon which I never had before set my foot

What has always stuck out to me was how Nephi pondered in his heart. I just love pondering. I've realized that personally most of my answers don't come when I am studying the scriptures, but it comes after, when I am pondering my questions and pondering what I've read. Pondering helps me to connect everything and answer my questions. If you are seeking honestly, the Lord WILL help you find, I can promise you that. How can you be a better seeker of the truth this week?
