Fire lessons, fireworks, and FIRE.
Holy moly yall! Last week was the first week I missed doing an email for yall..I think? The 4th of July was just too busy to even get in writing time. I really mean it, I'm not just pulling your leg.
4TH OF JULY RECAP: Woke up, did yoga, went to a ward pancake breakfast party, went to the grocery store, drove to Bridgeport for yard games and pork steak with the Lambs. Drove to Denton for gatorball and hamburgers (which I didn't eat because I was stuffed already) talked to the fam, the we drove all the way to sunset for dinner with the Smiths. The most yummy hamburgers ever.

fire warning
) We even got permission to stay and watch a few fireworks, but what happened was the first firework that went of fell over and started a fire on the ground. That was all fine and dandy because the Smiths were ready for that with a hose. BUT, what they weren't ready for was a flame hopping the fence and starting a fire in the field. They had to take their little four wheeler thing with a water jug on back all the way around their property and through the fence, all the way back to where the fire was. When Brother Smith got there all we see is him looking around very confused. Out of nowhere Sister Smith, who is not a young lady, comes running and hollering through the field with the hose. Oh boy was that a scene. But no worries! The fire was put out haha

LAST WEEK IN A NUTSHELL: The bird eggs right outside of our front door finally hatched. Now we have cute/ugly baby birds!! They almost make up for all the bird poop they drop. Sister Liechty reached her mission 1 year mark
lots of lessons last week, and we got to meet our needs mission President, President John! He's awesome, more on him below.

TALKED IN CHURCH AGAIN
: I was asked to speak in church again. I talked about Quentin L. Cook talk called Conversion to the Will of God. I think it was decent? Didn't have much to prepare for it sense I have missionary duties that take priority kinda.

FOODBANKS: We did service at two foodbanks this week. One in Boyd and one I Decatur. I love doing service. It's kind of like exercise but with more pros. We just carried a lot of cans to different places.
LOTS OF LESSONS: The work seems to be picking up here! Which makes me so happy because the more lessons we have the less we have to be out in the heat!! Speaking if, it's way to hot here. It's been over 100 almost in not every day.
ZONE CONFERENCE SPIRITUAL THOUGHT: We had our first zone conference with President John...and it was soo good! He's planning on make so great changes for our mission. It's definitely going to be different, but I think he's bringing a desire and motivation that our mission needed. This conference we focused on faith and becoming a Master Seeker. Do you love to learn about the gospel? What I took away from zone conference even though it wasn't said was that true seeking is constant. As missionaries we have an hour to study for ourselves, but that is not where the learning or studying stops. Here's a favorite scripture of mine:
1 Nephi 11:1 - For it came to pass after I had desired to know the things that my father had seen, and believing that the Lord was able to make them known unto me, as I sat pondering in mine heart I was caught away in the Spirit of the Lord, yea, into an exceedingly high mountain, which I never had before seen, and upon which I never had before set my foot
What has always stuck out to me was how Nephi pondered in his heart. I just love pondering. I've realized that personally most of my answers don't come when I am studying the scriptures, but it comes after, when I am pondering my questions and pondering what I've read. Pondering helps me to connect everything and answer my questions. If you are seeking honestly, the Lord WILL help you find, I can promise you that. How can you be a better seeker of the truth this week?
